Guest guest
SrI:Dear SrI Nrisimha BhakthAs : The first vyAkhyAnam for Thiruvaimozhi was by Thirukkuruhai PiLLAn PirAn(6ooo Padi) following the kaNakku of Sri VishNu PurAnam. This was followed by Nanjeeyar's 9,000 padi . PeriyavAcchAn PiLLai's 24,000 Padi folowed the number of slOkams of Srimad RaamAyaNam in size. Vadakku Thiruveethi PiLLai with great effort composed Ieedu 36,000 Padi but incurred the displeasure of his AchAryan , NampiLLai in creating it from NampiLLai's KaalakshEpams without his AchAryan's permisison . This Ieedu grantam stayed out of circulation for many years and finally was permitted to be released thru NaayinAcchAr PiLLai , the son of Periya VaacchAn PiLlai . VaadhikEsari Azhagiya MaNavALa Jeeyar was the sishyar of NaayinAcchAr PiLLai and he blessed us with two commentaries on ThiruvAimozhi: (1) 12,000 padi (2) DramidOpanishad Sangathi in Sanskrit , which provided the meaning of each dasakam . Swamy Desikan was a contemproary of NayinArAcchAn PiLLai , PiLLai LOkaacchAr ( son of Vadakku Thiruveethi PiLLai) , Vaadhi Kesari Azhagiya MaNavALa PerumAl were contemporaries . Swamy Desikan blessed us with two SrI Sookthis : (1) DramidOpanishad Taatparya RatnAvaLi incorporating the meaning of the paasurams of each dasakam and (2) DramidOpanishad Saaram , which summarized the meanings of each Satakam ( Patthu). Few decades later , Sri Saila SrinivAsa Desika Swamy contributed two granthams in MaNipravALam as commentary to the two SrI Kosams of Swamy Desikan . MaNavALa MaamunikaL presented for a whole year the Ieedu 36,000 at Srirangam Temple and was honored by Lord RanganAtha Himself . He became known as 36,000 Perukkar . MaamunikaL also blessed us with ThiruvAimozhi NooRRandhAthi in VeNNpaa meter. This Sri Sookti summarized the meanings of each dasakam . We will focus on DramidOpanishad Taatparya RatnAvaLi . There is a Temple for Thirukkuruhai PirAn PiLLAn at Kaanchi Sannidhi Street , which is not protected well from the elements . Perhaps some one of you would like to come forward to provide repairs to permit nityArAdhanam to continue here . Please let me know of your potential interests .
