Guest guest
Dasasya Vigyapanam, I shall be grateful if you can kindly elucidate as to why Sri Vedanta Desika is called Nigamanta Mahadesika? What is the full purport of the title Nigamanta? Dasan Raghunathan SrI: SrImathE Nigamantha Mahadesikaya nama: Dear Sri Raghunathan Sri Vedantha Desika- Vedantha Acharya is also called Nigamaantha Desika Nigamam- means Vedam- So, it is same as Vedantha [in my humble opinion]. Swamy Desikan had written an elbaorate commentary for Thiruvaaymozhi [which is not lost] is also named by Swami as "nigama parimaLam" -i.e. Thiruvaymozhi verses having the divine fragrance of Vedas... erudite scholars may add: Regards Namo narayana dAsan madhavakkannan
