Dear all,

We had the good fortune of visiting oppiliappan koil recently. The

stay was made memorable by Andavan Ashram, which has excellent

accommodation for devotees. It is situated in Sannadhi theru opposite

the temple and is very close and convenient.

The place is very clean and the service is excellent and friendly.

There are ordinary rooms ( the rate at the moment is a mere hundred

rupees) at the ground level and up a flight of stairs. There are a

couple of AC rooms on the 2nd floor which are a little more expensive,

if we do not mind climbing two flights of stairs. The food is also

provided from someone who lives close by.

" We have plans to build more AC Rooms on the ground level " says Shri

Sundaram who manages the Ashram. He explained, saying that many

devotees are not able to climb two flights of stairs and that AC rooms

at a lower level will be a convenience to them. He provided valuable

info by way of calling for taxis and autos whose drivers charged

reasonably without overcharging, and arranging for meals.

He knew about who lived where and pointed to the houses which have

been lying vacant.

As we all know and also as Shri Sundaram pointed out, more and more

houses in the divya desams are being bought by people who do not

belong to our culture.

Bhagavathas who have some spare cash lying around should consider

buying these, if possible. I don't know how we can keep track of these

houses. If anyone has any ideas as to what can be done, please share

with the rest of us.

For Bhagavathas who wish to go to oppiliappan koil in the near future,

here is the phone number of Shrimad Andavan Ashram: 0435- 2463138, to

call ahead of time and book accommodation.

The mailing address is:Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam, Sannathi

Street, Uppiliappan Koil, Thirunageswaram - 612-204.

I hope more Bhagavathas will be able to make use of this facility.
