Sri Ramanuja Jayanthi Celebrations 2007

Annual Award Announcement " Kaimkarya Thilakam "

-------------------------------

Dear Bhagavathas:

The most eagerly awaited celebrations of Sri Ramanuja Jayanthi are

just around the corner and what could be a better occasion than this

to recognize the dedication and devotion of an academically,

professionally, and spiritually well accomplished scholar. This

bhagavatha has a doctoral degree in electrical engineering and is a

leading researcher at a renowned institution, holding two patents and

numerous publications, and a true practitioner of Sri Vaishnava

Sampradhayam. Above all, his commitment to promote the awareness of

Ramanuja philosophy through the electronic medium is unparalleled.

This young scholar is an ideal role model for all generations to

come. On the occasion of this year's celebrations of Sri Ramanuja

Jayanthi (which falls on Chithirai, Adhirai – Sunday, April 22,

2007), Sri Ramanuja Mission Inc., of Srirangam Srimath Andavan

Ashramam (SRI) is pleased to recognize the outstanding services of

Sri Muralidhar Rangaswamy Swami for his authentic transliteration of

numerous works of Purvacharyas. A special mention must be made of

his compilation and translation of various Purvacharyas'

commentaries on the magnum opus of Swami Sri Desikan's Padhuka

Sahasram. In recognition of his efforts in providing authentic

commentaries and also making them easily accessible throughout the

world via the web, we confer the title of " Kainkarya Rathnam " on him.

This title carries with it an honorary plaque and blessings from HH

Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan and will be presented during Sri

Ramanuja Jayanthi celebrations at SSVT, MD, on Sunday, April 29th in

the presence of Udayavar, Sri Venugopala Perumal, Sri Nrusimha

Sudharshana Chakrath Azhwar, Poorvacharya Padukas and fellow

bhagavathas with full honor. SRI president Sri Poondi Vijayaraghavan

will be presenting the award.

We request fellow bhagavathas to join us in honoring Sri Muralidhar

Rangaswamy Swami and in praying to Sri Ranganatha Divya Dampathi and

Poorvacharya Padukas to bestow upon him and his family a long life

and continued service in the years to come.

A brief biographical history of Sri Muralidhar Rangaswamy is

presented below:

Sri Muralidhar Rangaswamy received his Ph.D. degree in electrical

engineering from Syracuse University, NY. Sri Rangaswamy is employed

as a senior electronics engineer at the Air Force Research

Laboratory, where he is responsible for leading research and

development efforts in the area of radar signal processing. He has

over seventy journal and conference publications in this field, in

addition to two U.S. patents. He is also a Fellow of the Institute

Sri Rangaswamy was introduced to the Srivaishnava tradition by his

grandfather, U.Ve. Sri K. Srinivasaraghavachariar Swami. H.H. Sri

Rangapriya Mahadesikan Swami (in purvashramam) was responsible for
