As my mother's native pace is Ponvilaintha Kalathur ,I am just adding

some information about these temples.

 

Pon Vilaintha Kalathur village is very near to Ottivakkam Railway

station on Chennai.Chengleput-Tindivanam route. There are two temples

in this village,one is for SriLakshmi Narasimhar and another is for

Sri Darbasayana Sethuramar .Both the temples attract large

devotees.The deitees here are Varaprasadhis.

Brahmotsavam,Davanauthsavam,parvettai uthsavam,Pavitra

uthsavam ,Dhanurmasa adhyayana uthsavam,Ratha Sapthami,Sudarsana

Homam,Desikar uthsavam etc in this tempe draws large crowd from

devotees and old residents of thiis village who are residing in

chennai and other parts of the state and even in foreign

countries.There is a Ramar sannadhi in sri lakshmi narasimhar temple

with celebrations for sriramanavami, Hanumath jayanthi etc.Hayagrivar

moolavar is also to be installed here.

Ponpathirkudam is 2 km from ponvilaintha kalathur on Tirukalukkundram

road .Here Sri Chathurbhuja Ramar temple is in existance ,where Sri

Kothanda Ramar with four arms,two with Sankham and Chakram and the

other two with bows and arrows.The deity is,beautiful,gigantic,

gracious and very rare swaroopam.Though the vilage is only with

population of families of farmers, as State tourism department

operates weekly holiday trips to this temple,from Chennai , many

devotees are availing opportunity to get the blessings in this

shrine.Recenty on 25th Mar 2007,Maha Samprokshanam took place in this

temple. Uthsavar Vigrahams of Sri LakshmiNarayana were installed on

that day.Pavitra Utsavam,SriRama Navami Utsavam,Parvettai utsavam are

celebrated here with many vaideegas.
