Dear All :

 

I have been working with Dr.Advitheeya Dixit ,

a young and dedicated VaishNavite belonging to

Ahobila Matam from Bangalore . He is a Medical

Doctor interning now in Rochester .

 

He is the author of a brilliant book on Annamacharya

and His Sankeerthanams , a Book in English with

the Bard's Krithis in Telegu , He has been assisted by

a telegu poet & Scholar , Smt.Ambika . This book

consisting of 200 plus Sankeerthanams of

the Saint from TaaLapaakkam has been released

by Thirumala Thirupapthi DevasthAnam , which

is an indication of the quality of this book . As you

know , the TTD Book release dept has a rigorous

standard for releasing any book under their auspices .

 

The uniqueness of this book is in the coverage of

Sankeerthanams related not only to Lord Venkatesa , the poet-

composers' Ishta dhaivam but also about his AchAryan,

Adhi VaNN SatakOpar and Ahobila Narasimhan .

 

I am working with Dr.Adviteeya to create a CD

on selected songs of Annamayya with emphasis on

(1) Bhagavath RaamAnuja (2) Lord Venkatesa

(3) Nava Narasimhars of Ahobilam and (4) Adhi

VaNN SathakOpa Jeeyar .

 

TalapAkkam Annamya had Grantha ChAthushtya

KaalakshEpam from Adhi VaNN SatakOpa Jeeyar,

the founding Jeeyar of Ahobila Matam , while He

was performing Naadha NaivEdhya Kaimakryams to

Lord VenkatEsa and AlarmEl Mangaa ThAyAr .

 

 

We hope to have an anugraha BhAshaNam from

Sriamth Azhagiya Singar for this CD to be released in

June 2007 .

 

Dr.Dixit will be providing the commentary on

the individual songs . Sri Amrut of Bangalore

will be singing these sankeerthanams of Annamayya .

The one day recording is to be done at Bangalore in

the first half of June .

 

On the funding side of this kaimakryam, the recording will be done

at Bangalore by SrI Amrut with Violin , Mrudhangam and

VeeNaa (?) or Flute . The total cost for the recording ,

creation & distribution of this CD is approximately

$600 or 24,000 Rupees . I will start with adiyEn's modest contribution of

$50 . Any support from you would be welcome and

it could be sent to me for helping us to cover the recording

of the Sankeerthanams and have it distributed

among the BhakthAs of Lord Venkatesa . .
