Sumathi, All archAvatharas of the Supreme Being are beautiful not only for Their All-Attractive appearance but for the symbolism that leads us to further appreciate His Wonder. Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar is the Form of the Lord who removes alls that stands in the way of our finding peace and solace in Him. So, although He appears ferocious, His Eyes are filled with tears of Compassion for His Creation. To remove the obstacles, He uses ChakrathazhwAr, the embodiment of His Paratvam and Svatantriyam. Sometime in the history of our sampradAyam, people started worshipping Sri ChakrathzhwAr separately, independently from Sriman Narayana, for the purposes of securing some phalams. To show that even Sri Sudarshanar is His Sesham and operates through His Kataksham alone, the Lord appears in this unique form as Sri Sudarshana-Narasimhar. I hope this helps. adiyen
