Guest guest
Friends, For anyone planning to learn about or do research on the Vaikhanasa Agama, the following two books and one article are absolutely essential (in my opinion). These materials are widely available in large research libraries in the United States. Regards, Bob Evans 1. Kâúyapa (Son of Marîci) . : Kâúyapa's book of wisdom (Kâúyapa- Jnânakâ & #7751; & #7693;a & #7717;) : a ritual handbook of the Vaikhânasas . Translated and annotated by T. Goudriaan. : The Hague : Mouton, 1965. 341 p. ; 24 cm. Note: This is a scholarly translation of R. Pârthasârathi Bhattachar (ya)'s edition of the Sanskrit text. Includes bibliographical references. As far as I know, this is the only translation of a Vaikhanasa Samhita into English. 2. Goudriaan, T. " Vaikhanasa Daily Worship. " Indo-Iranian Journal. Vol. 12, No. 3/September 1970. Pages 161-215. Note: A detailed and through (54 pages) treatment of daily worship according to the major Vaikhanasa Samhitas. This is required reading for anyone doing research on Vaikhanasa Agama. 3. Ramesh, M. S. The festivals and rituals at Tirumala Temple.Chennai : T.R. Publications, 2000. xviii, 331 p. : ill. (some col.) ; 22 cm. Note: The first part of this book contains an excellent discussion of the differences between Vaikhanasa and Pancaratra.
