Since lunar eclipse occurs on Tuesday, upAkarma should be observed on Monday. Since USA has 4 time zones unlike India, the local time of lunar eclipse can be got from the NASA link.

Please make sure you use Form A where a scroll down window lists important cities within USA. Gayathri japam should be performed after moon set or completion of eclipse on Tuesday. Example of East Coast :Site releated Observance

******************************************************** For Edison, NJ/New York Eclipse begins at 3.51 AM EDT. Totality Ends/Moon set - 6.22 AM EDT. Moksham - 7.24 PM EDT (evening)

Affected Nakshatrams: are Avittam, Sadayam, Purattadi mrgaseerisham, chitrai (continue fasting after 6.22 AM EDT and can eat after 7.24 PM EDT). Do not partake food before 9 hours of beginning of eclipse. Perform Gayatri japam after eclipse concluded or moon set.
