Guest guest
Dear sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer, We saw the list of donors in vaamana and krishNa avathaarams together- which is mor or less same. Now we will see why I come to such a conclusion – it must be understood that sree sukhar has not indicated anything about somebody offering gifts to child Vishnu or child krishNa. The gifts, which are basically required for a vatu – a brahmachari is given at the upanayanam of sri vaamana. Same list of donors is ascribed by aazhvaar as donors to krishNa. To conclude that way, dear bhakthaas, again it is not my imagination – aazhvaar himself gives those clues -- from the addressing of the child vishNu -- in his padhikam maaNikkam katti – each verse has that addressing -- in the very first verse he says – maaNikuRaLanE – meaning vaamananE - in the second – vaiyam aLanthaanE - thrivikramanE in third thaamaraik kaNNananE – that vishNu to vaamanan – vaamanan to thrivikraman – thrivikraman is vishNu – the punDareeka aksha: or or who has ambuja eekshaNam– now in front as a child of nandha and yasOdhaa – just recall that slokam `tham adhbhutham baalakam ambuja eekshaNam'. in fourth dhEvakee singamE – son of dhEvakee – a confirmation that he only has come now as this son of dhEvakee – which is lord's words – mE vyartham sathyam in fifth – maNivaNNanE – kousthubha dhaari in sixth – sOthich chudar mudiyaai – kreeta dhaari in seventh – thirumangai poth thandhaaL kOnE – thirumangai koNE in eighth – naaraayaNaa – a straight addressing in ninth – aiyaa – oh lord the addressing such as sundharathOlanE, kudandhaik kidanthaanE and arangaththu aNaiyaanE are all additional ones. In that third verse, another great point is also there – en thambiraanaar ezhil thiru maarvarkku – indhiran thandhu – to that lord who came as upEndhran – en thambiraanaar ezhil thiru maarvaRkku sandham azhagiya thaamaraith thaaLaRkku indhran thaanum ezhiludaik kiNkiNi thandhu uvanaay ninRaan thaalElO! thaamaraik kaNNanE! thaalElO! Meaning: [as per sri madavakkaNNan swamy – mail in 2002] My God - My Swamy - who has the divine chest where most beautiful Mahaa lakshmi resides; who has the eyes of most charming red lotus colour; - To You, kaNNaa! dhevEndhran also offered the bright anklets (sathangai) for your short, stout cute legs and stood aside happily. Oh red lotus eyed Lord! thaalElO! Here PiraaTTi is referred to because of her kataaksham (merciful, benevolent glances) dEvEndhran attained that status, which was lost earlier. That word `en thambiraanaar' – change it slightly to `en thambiyaanaar' – indhran says - to `uPendhran' – my `younger brother' vaamanan. But since that word upa is also mean `lord' – upa in Sanskrit - seen in previous post – so en thambiraanaar – en thambi aanaar, en thambiraan aanaar – thambiraan is thalaivan – leader - so also indhra came and gave to his brother, leader vaamana. So again it is vaamana. If this mention is only once I agree it is for krishNa only – since krishNa is the supreme lord to aazhvaar he might have mentioned about vaamana for it is also an avathaaram of same lord - but when all 9 paasurams are having – it is not an `also came' instance – but intentional – hey I am giving that list of vaamana but changing to krishNa about whom I am singing – that changing is in the last verse – 10th – aaichchi thaalaatiya sol pudhuvai battan sol. Perhaps, dear bhakthaas, you also agree with me in the above. Let that aazhvaar and his lord our lord krishNa make us trouble free – that is what aazhvaar also says – illai idar thane. Vaamana dhaasan - cum - krishNa dhaasan Vasudevan m.g. PS: with this I think we can colclude this series. When I was going thru that third sargam in 10th skandham and 18th sargam of 8th skandham – it just opened up in me and I shared it with you all. Thank you all, and the moderators in particular, who allowed this series to appear in the lists.
