Dear Swamin:Thanks for such a revealing article. Can you please post Part 2 mentioned in the write up? One other thing that needs clarification.Sri Rama is believed to have lived in Treta yuga. As per traditional calculations, as of 2007 AD, we are in the year 5,108 of Kali abdam (out of 432, 000 years)Dvapara yugam that immediately preceded is said to have 864,000 years. (Double that of Kali yugam)This means that Sri Rama should have lived sometime before 869,108 years from now.To say that Sri Rama was born on on January 10, 5114 BC (7117 years back) puts his birth in Dvapara yuga and NOT TrEta yuga. The author states:"Thus Shri Ram had come back to Ayodhya at the age of 39 (5114-5075)" As per the epic, Sri Rama had his PaTTabhiishEkam soon after and that he ruled AFTER his coronation for 11,000 years (dasa varsha SahasraaNi dasa Varsha sataani cha). Calculating from from 5075 years in BC we have to wait till 5925 years in AD to make up for the total 11,000 years. But, we are only in 2007 AD. According to this, Sri Rama must be still living in our midst.!This will mean that Sri Rama lives right into the Kali yuga, which is believed to have started in 3102 BC.

Further, all these attempts to rely on Computer calculations will only make them look unnatural and faulty.

Any attempt to defend Ramayana period based on these computations will only make us look ridiculous.

This is because of what is known as "GIGO" - "Garbage In - Garbage Out".

If the computer is fed wrongly, it can throw up only wrong and misleading answers that are equally unreliable.

We do not know in what Kalpa Rama lived and whether the Compueter savvy people can peep into

that distant kalpa when Ramayanam took place because then also the same planetary positions could have occured.

Only if this were done, one could confirm the excact dates. Till then the 5114 and 5075 now projected have

to be dismissed as unreliable.
