who lived some 400 years ago at

ChOLa Simhapuram ( ShOlingar

of today ) , which is one of the 108

dhivya Desams (Thirukkadikai) .

 

As Sri DhoddAchArya Mahaa Desikan

sorrowed one year over his inability to enjoy

the annual VaikAsi Garuda Sevai in person at,

Kaanchi , he visualized the Lord's sevai nostalgically

right from the banks of TakkAn KuLam at

ChOLa Simha Puram .

 

The most merciful VaradharAjan appeared

at the moment of Completion of the Panchakam

and blessed DhoddAchArya Desikan with

His Garuda Vaahana Sevai . Every VaikAsi

BrahMothsavam time at Kaanchi , a special

sevai known as DoddAchArya Sevai is performed

in memory of the Lord's special sevai to His

dear devotee as GaruDArUda GajEndhra Varadhan .
