They are covered in 21 days,: 10 days pf Pagal Pathu and 10 Days of Ira Pathu and one day for Thirumangai Azhwars" ThiruNedunthandagam". During the first ten days which is the Pagal Pathu, Prabhandams of all the other Azhwars except NamAzhwar is recited. The second ten days which is the Ira Pathu, Namazhwars pasurams are recited. Guest guest Posted November 23, 2007 Report Share Posted November 23, 2007 Swamin, As far as I understand, during Dhanur month we are supposed to recite only Tiruppalli Ezhuchi & Tiruppaavai without Tiruppallaadu.. It is also the practice that Divyaprabhandam should not be recited from the day of Karthikai star in the month of Karthikai which is the Tirunakzhatiram of Sri Tirumangai Azhvar till Thai Hastham, which is the Tirunakshatiram of Sri Koorathaazhvan. Prabhandam is recited in temples during Pagalpatth & iraapatthu utsavem which comes during Margazhi. On other days during Margazhi, only Tiruppalli ezhchi & Tiruppaavai are recited in both temples & homes. The reason for this arrangement during the days of Tiurumangai Azhvaar, people had to proceed to Srirangam for the ten day Pagalpatthu utsavam starting with Tirunedun Thaandakam followed by Muthalaayiram & Periya Tirumozhi which will end just a day before Vaikunta Ekaadasi when the Iraapatthu Utsavam will start with recital of the First Patth of Tiruvoimozhi and on the tenth day Nammaazhvar's Moksham is observed & the regust to the Lord to give us back the Azhvar. On the following day the entire Iyarpaa is recited and the following day Sri Desika Prabhandam is recited in full with Saatthu murai. After that, we have to confine to the recital of Tiruppalli Ezhuchi & Tiruppaavai only till Hastham. In Temple, after the Iraapatth Utsavam is completed,Tiruppalland is restarted in homes as well as in Temple. This is to enable the peole who had come to Srirangam for the Pagal patthu Utsavam to go back to their residence. This ancient practice is followed by us.
