Guest guest
Dear Shri Vaishnavaites, adiyEn has got following questions and request you to enlighten. 1. In 20th pasuram, Sri Andal requests for "ukkamum thattOliyum thanthu" and i heard different upanyasams and all referred to "visiri which is hand fan & mirror" for these words. My question is on what is the significance for these items? That too in maarkazhi which has a colder weather, why one requires visiri? If they are told as requirements for paavai nonbu, can you enlighten on why these items are required for paavai nOnbu? Iam sure that our great Andal would not have just put some words and should have some inner meaning. 2. Why thiruppaavai is referred as "vEdamanithukkum vitthu"? Sri Andal has done paavai nOnbu which is not even referred in vedas? What is that she explained about vedas in thiruppavai? If we say that she sung about god of vedas here, that is done by other azhwars too. And her other work like nachiyar thirumozhi is not referred but only Thiruppaavai only is referred as vedamanaithukkum vitthu. Why? 3. In thirruppaavai thaniyan, we say "soodi koduththa sudarkodiyE.....venkatavaRku vithiyenna immaaRRam...nalgu". Andal refers to "venkatavarku ennai vithikiRRayE" in nachiyaar thirumozhi Ist pasuram only not in thiruppaavai. Then why this thaniyan is added as thiruppaavai thaniyan? 4. In general thaniyans of Divyaprabhandam, why Sri Andal is not referred where 10 other azhwars were referred? (ref bootham sarascha..) madhurakavi is also not referred and we can understand that he sung on his acharyan nammalwar only not perumaaL. But why Andal is missing? If iam wrong and any other thaniyan is practised, please advise. Thanks, Srinath Forgot the famous last words? Access your message archive online.
