Dear BhagavathAs,

As we all know Sri Ahobila Mutt has

been instrumental in establishing and maintaining Sri

Vaishnava temples and PatasAlas for the welfare of

humanity. Nirvalur used to be Nir-vatriyur

historically and responding to a local king's

challenge Srivan SatakOpa Sashta Parankusa Yatheendra

MahA DEsikan Swami did the prathistai of Jwala

Nrusimhan (pls note Jwala Nrusimhan Moolavar at

Ahobilam does not have a Uthsavar) and the barren

Nirvatriyur became Nirvalur. This Acharya(6th

Azhagiyasinghar) also founded IngimEdu Agraharam.

As a result Sri Ahobila mutt inherited vast tracts of

wet lands at Nirvalur and a small sannidhi hosting

Jwala Nrusimhan. Succeeding Acharyas visited

Nirvalur. During the reign of 42nd Srimad

Azhagiyasinghar (InjimEdu), an Agraharam was

established in NirvalUr and was given the name

Bhashyapuram. A small temple for Lakshmi Narayanar

was established during this time and Jwala Nrusimhan

was worshipped in the same sannidhi. Some Mutt

sishyas from Kanchipuram (Sankruthi Gothram) relocated

to NirvalUr during this time.

During 1970's when there was a boom in Chennai

real-estate, flat promoters like Raju Real Estates

contributed generously to repair the temple complex

and consecrated a Dwajas Sthambam and added a new

Sannidhi for Chinna Thiruvadi. Now that L & T has

acquired vast tracts of land in NirvalUr they are also

involved in the Kovil Kaimkaryam and the MahA

SamprOkshana Vaibhavam is scheduled for 27th Jan 2008

presided by 45th Srimad Azhagiyasinghar, Srivan

SatakOpa Sri Narayana Yatheendra MahA DEsikan Swami.

SamprOkshana Kramam has already commenced since

yesterday, and Bhagavathas can choose to visit in

between as well.

Directions: While commuting on Chennai-Bangalore

Highway, after Saint Gobain Factory one comes across

Pamban Oil mills on the right, the side road leads to

Nirvalur. If you miss this road, you will see L & T

factory. AdiyEn believe there would be a sign-board

on NH4.....

Vachaka Dosha Kshanthavya

AdiyEn Sri RAmAnuja DAsan,
