The ahobilavalli team is pleased to announce the release of the 88th eBook in ahobilavalli series –“Swami Desikan’s Hamsa Sandesam”. The poetry and genius of Swami Desikan shines brilliantly in this thoothu-style composition, where the nAyakan is SrI Raman, who sends a hamsam (swan) to His beloved Seetha imprisoned by RavaNan in Lanka. Using great skill and evidencing extensive knowledge of the geography of the land, Swami Desikan describes the beauty of the regions that are found on the banks of the meandering Cauvery river and also brings out the greatness of the unbreakable bond that exists between the Jeevan and paramAtma and how the AchAryAs act as the emissaries for strengthening this sambhandam.

 

This eBook is a brief introductory attempt to capture the essence of Swami Desikan’s elegant verses. We will try to bring out a more indepth commentary on the individual slOkams same in the near future.
