" Pranams!

Recently, I had the bhagyam of visiting Ahobilam on Narasimha

chaturdasi day. We (my son and I) hired a Toyota INNOVA (car-van) from

Hyderabad; we started at 7:15 am on May 17th, and reached Ahobilam at

12:45 pm after stopping for lunch in Allagadda). Ahobilam is located

25 km (from Allagadda)interior from Hyderabad- Tirupati Highway. From

Ahobilam, we started on May 20th at 7 am and reached Tallapaka (Sri

Annamacharya's birth place on the way to Tirupati) and reached

Tallapaka by 10:30 am after stopping for breakfast in Cudupha and

briefly stopping by in Vontimitta. We attended the opening cermony of

the 600th birth anniversary of Annamacharya; There is a new 108 feet

tall vigraham of Annamacharya, and a new Sri Venkateswara swamy

temple nearby. The vigraham and this new temple are located on (very

close to) the highway on the way to Rajampet (not in the exact

Tallapaka village) approximately 10 to 15 km from village of

Vontimitta. On the way to Tallapaka, we stopped at a very ancient Sri

Rama temple in Vontimitta. The great Telugu Poet Potana has dedicated

Telugu version of Srimath Bhagavatham to Lord Sri Rama at this Temple.

We started at 1:00 pm in Tallapaka and reached Tirupati by 3:00 pm (as

there was not much traffic). In short, it takes less than 5 hrs by car

from Tirupati to go to Ahobilam. Please don't miss the site of 108

feet tall beautiful vigraham of Sri Annamacharya. At least for this,

road travel is well worth it.

In Ahobilam, Sri BadriNarayan swamy the manager of Malola guest house

was very corteous and helpful. The 15 km, 1500 rupees jeep ride, to go

to Sri Pavana Narasimha swamy temple, is a very rough rough, but well

worth it. Sri Bargava Narasimha is accessible by auto ride (rough

ride). The trekking to Jwala and Malola is very very worth it, but

make sure to find when the priest would be available in Jwala. We were

very lucky that we could attend the abhishekam of Sri Jwala Narasimha

Swamy. After performing the puja, the same priest goes to Malola. We

took the guide suggested by the manager; The guide is necessary or

trekking as he would know the easiest path. The other five are easily

accessible on the way to Jwala or Pavana. Sri Badari swamy (mANAGER)

provided all the info.

Jai Sriman Narayana. With all glories to Lord Sri Venkateswara, I remain, "
