Dear Ms. Nalini Anand Asservathams to you and Anand. You need not feel shy about marrying an Iyengar boy , being an Iyer . So long as , one respects truly the vows taken before Agni Bhagawan during marriage , one need not feel ashamed of any action. Krishna expects that every one should follow the doctrines laid down by Him in the sruthis and smirithis. This is what He narrates in the Bhagavad Gita. Adiyen appreciates your desire to know about the Srivaishanva sampradayam to respect your husband's beliefs .This is the basic requirement of a Sri Vaishnavan. Glad you have that attitude. Anyhow if you go to the site < www.ahobilamutt.org> , you would find two articles on Sri Vaishnavism and the requirements of a Srivaisnavan . That should give an idea. Otherwise , there is a CD available in Kinchitkaram Trust in Chennai , where in Swami Velukkudi Krishnan has rendered a 3 hour lecture in English on ' Visishtadvaitham' and also another CD on ' who is a true Sri vaishnavan' . These should help. May Krishna bless you and anand. Adiyen , Ramanuja dasan , G.Sampath.
