It was established by Srimad Raghavarya Mahadesikan 500 years ago. This village is well-knownfor great acharyas,and anushtathas. The perumal temple is Sri Alarmelmangasametha Srinivas Perumal. Mangalasasanam was performed by Sri Kethandapatti Swami, Sri Denganikottai Swami, Sri Kozhialam Swami, Sri Thirupukuzhi Swami, Sri Navalpakkam Swami, Sri Iyya Swami, Sri Chetlur Swami and Sri Villiambakkam Swami. The 4th year Pavithrotsavam was conduted from August 11 to 13 2008.
