SrI:On this auspicious Ekadashi tithi , SrI HayagrIvan likhita kaimkarya ghOshTi humbly presents VaikuNThavAsi PudukkoTTai SrI U.Ve. A Srinivasa Raghavan Swami’s beautiful English translation of Bhagavad Ramanuja’s SrI Bhashyam (4th Chapter) – Vol 1 as the 20th eBook in SrI HayagrIvan series

to celebrate the occassion. The original book (Sukha BhOdhini) was created by VaikunTha Vaasi Sri Purisai NyAya VedAnta VidvAn KrishNamAcchAr Swamy in theyear 1985 . Sri Purisia Swamy is the grandson of HH Sri InjimEttu Azhagiya Singar , who reigned as the 42nd PeetAdhipathi with Suprasiddha Vaibhavam .

 

This original Tamil release has been translated into impeccable English by

SrI PudukkOttai Swamy at the request of Sri Purisai Swamy . We are releasing that English translation of PudukkOtai Swamy on this EkAdasi day .

 

It is poignant to note that today is also the VaikuNTha prApti day (Thiruvijn~Apanam day ) of SrI PudukkOTTai swami. We thank his devoted son SrI S.Rajagopalan for providing the source document in scanned format to release as an eBook.We thank Sriman Purisai Ranganathan Swamy , the KumArar of Purisia Sri KrishNamAchAr Swamy for permission to release the translation of his dear Father . May the rasikAs of SrI BhAshyam enjoy this rare treat and use it to understand this PrAcheena grantam of AchArya RaamAnujA and its deep thoughts that sustain Sri Bhagavad RaamAnuja Darsanam .

 

One may wonder why Sri Purisai Swamy chose the 4th chapter of Sri BhAshyam first to write his athisaraLa commentary instead of the other three adhyAyams(SamanvayAdhyAyam , AvirOdhAdhyAyam and SaadhanAdhyAyam). I t has been pointed out that Swamy chose PhalAdhyAyam first because Jn~Anam about the supreme Phalan is essential to seek and realize the Parama PurushArtham of Moksha Sukham .

 

Sriman PudukkOttai Swamy's brilliant English translation of the original text in Tamil has helped many unfamiliar with Tamil or Sanskrit to access the majestic thoughts of Bhagavad RaamAnujA's magnum opus . We are priveleged to release this English Text and make it available to AasthikAs around the world on the Internet in the spirit of anytime, anywhere access in our SrI Hayagrivan ebook series .
