Thirumangai AzhwAr's ThirunedunthANdakam- 27th verse- Parakala nayaki sends another messenger to the Lord!

Dearest all,

 

Instead of sending a messenger to one place, Parakala nayaki attempts to send to

other divya desams as well so that at least one place- her wish would get

fulfilled. She sends message to ThirukkaNNapuram divya desam.

 

sengaala madan^aaraay! inRE senRu

thirukkaNNa purambukken sengaN maalukku,

enkaatha len_thuNaivark kuraitthi yaakil

idhuvoppa themakkinba millai, naaLum

paingaanam eethellaam unadhE yaagap

pazhanameen kavarndhuNNath tharuvan, thandhaal

ingEvan^ thinithirunthun pedaiyum neeyum

semkaal – oh red footed

madam naaraay – naarai (crane) bird, who is fond of your companion!

senRu- go across the roads

inRe- today itself

pukku- to ThirukkaNNapuram and

en semkaNN maalukku – to my beautiful red lotus flower like eyed endearing

Lord

en thuNaivarrku- to my companion (From time immemorial)

en kaadhal uraiithi aagil- if you kindly inform of my intense love towards Him

idhu oppadhu inbam emakku vERu illai- there is no pleasure better than that for

us( for me and Him) and hence thereafter

naaLum- everyday

paigaanam idhuvellaam – these greenery gardens and fields are

unadhE aaga- all your properties (and thus)

pazhanam meen – the fishes in those waters

kavarndhu uNNa tharuvan- I would let you catch them for you to eat ’em.

thandhaal- If I give you like that,

irunilatthil – in this vast world

inidhu inbam peRalaam – You can get all kinds of happiness thereafter.

 

 

Though as a PiraaTTi, Parakala nayaki can grant the upper world itself to the

bird, she grants what is befitting and most liked and sought after by the birds,

namely the place and the fishes. All divya desa moorthys are Himself and hence

similar to Si, Bhoomi Neela devi, Parakala nayaki can take all divya desa

perumAL as her naayakan. Hence she chooses to send a message to kaNNapuram.

 

Naayaki is not successful with the bee to be her messenger. She turns to the red

footed Naarai bird and asks it to undertake that mission of mercy to

Thrukkannapuram. She pleads with the Naarai to describe to her lord about her

love for Him. She promises the bird that she will feed it with all the food it

wants, if it agrees to undertake the requested mission. It does not cooperate

either.
