Chaturbhujaam

She has four arms

Chandrarupaam

She give happiness like chaadran and has a pleasing form like him.

Indiraam

She has the ultimate forms of wealth

Indushiitalaam

She is cool like the moon

Aahlaadajananaiim

She gives happiness to all who worship her.

Pushtim

She nourishes all , who worship Her.

Shivaam

She is the form of all auspiciousness.

Shivakariim

She grants all auspiciousness to everyone who worships Her.

Satiim

She is the foremost among pativratas and She is pure and sacred.

Vimalaam

She is pure.

Vishvajananiim

She is the mother of the world.

Pushtim

She is the devataa of plentitude. ( There is a version that says

`tushtim'. `toshayaami gunair vishnum tushyaami cha harair gunaihi,

mayi tustis samasthanaamiiditaayaam sakarmabhihi, tushtir niruupithaa

tena saa aham yogaabdhipaaragaihi' means: I please Vishnu with my

qualities and I am pleased with His Kalyana gunas a9auspicious

qualities. Happiness increases for allthose who worship Me. Hence I

am called `tushti' by yogis')

Daaridryanaashiniim

She destroys the poverty of all her devotees. `devyaa samsritimaatrena

daaridryam yaati bhasamsaat' – when Laskhmi Devi is thought of-

poverty is removed in that is instant' says Brahma puranam.

Priitipushkariniim

She is fond of the lotus pnd.

Shaantaam

She has the quality of Shanthi

Shuklamaalyaambaraam

She wears white garlands and clothes

Shriyam

If Her name is added to anything, that becomes better than anything

else – hence She is called Shree. `shreerityeva cha naama te' says

Shri Alavandar.

[shri Pancharathram says the following six explanations for the word

`shri'

1. shriiyate – Those who want moksham take refuge in Her. She grants

refuge for all those who have offended Her consort, the Lord and hence

She has the name `shri'.

2. shrayate – She is with Perumal and requests Him not to punish the

helpless devotees.

3. shrunoti – she listens to the devotees.......

4. shraavayati – and makes Emberuman listen too.

5. shrunaati- She destroys all the karmas that prevent bhakthi and

prapatti and those that prevent moksham.

6. shriinaathi – She makes the devotees worthy of nithyakainkaryam by

granting them the right qualities

Bhaskariim

She gives tejas to those who take refuge in Her.

Bilvanilayaam

She resides in the bilva tree. `vanaspatistava vriksho atha bilvah'

says a Srisukthi.

Varaarohaam

She climbed on to the chest of `Varan', Shri Mahavishnu. She has a

beautiful form, hence She is called `varaaroha'.

Yashasviniim

She has a special kind of fame and name. `yashasaa javalanttim' says

Shrisuktham

Vasundharaam

She holds all the wealth, since She gives these to those who take

refuge in Her.

Udaaraangaam

He form gives happiness to ShrimanNarayanan.

Hariniim

She snatches away all our sins. [`sarvapaapakshayapradaam

paapahaariniim']

Or, the beauty of Her eyes resembles those of a young deer.

Hemamaliniim

She wears golden garlands.

Dhanadhanyakariim

She creates wealth and grains for those who take refuge in Her.

Siddhim

She is the form of all siddis. Or, she gives all the eight siddhis

starting with `anima'.

Strainasaumyaam

She is the most beautiful among all groups of women.

Shubhapradaam

She gives only auspiciousness.

Nripaveshmagataanadaam

She resides in palaces and takes the form of `anandam'

Varalakshmiim

She incarnated as Varalakshmi. ( This pooja is done in Avani)

Vasupradaam

She grants all kinds of wealth, grains and prosperity for her devotees.
