Dharmanilayaam

All that is fair and just resides in Her

Karunaam

She is compassion itself since She is filled with compassion.

Lokamaataram

She is the Mother of all the worlds.

In the version of this shloka where this is read as `Vedamataram',

this means she is the Mother of the Vedas. At the time of creation,

She extracts the Vedas along with Bhaganvan.

Padmapriyaam

Her favourite residence is the lotus. Lotus is her favourite flower.

Padmahasthaam

She holds the lotus in Her hand.

Padmakshiim

Her eyes are cool like the petals of the lotus.

Padmasundariim

She is beautiful like the lotus flower.

Padmodbhavaam

She was appeared from a lotus flower.

Padmamukhiim

Her countenance is pleasing like the lotus flower.

Padmanabhapriyaam

She is beloved to Lord Padmanabhan who has a lotus at his navel.

Ramaam

She is always playing with ShrimanNarayanan. She makes everyone happy.

Padmamaalaadharaam

She wears a lotus garland.( It is said ` tanmadhye karnikayaam

shiriisamsthithaa padmamaalinii, diiptaa, chaturbhujaa, bhadraa, same

devii prasiidatu' – She who is in the middle of the lotus flower and

has four arms- and She who grants all auspiciousness – let Her save me')

Deviim

She is the playmate of Bhagavan and plays the game of creation, etc,

with Him.

Padminim

She is the devataa of the exalted kind of women called `Padmini'

Padmagandhiniim

She has the scent of lotus on her Divine form.

Suprasannam

She is very happy to please her devotees

Prasaadaabhimukhiim

She is always intent on granting everything to her devotees.

Prabhaam

She is the light of the sun.

Or, She is the Light of Bhagavan. Shrivishnupuranam says `Keshava is

the sun and His tejas is Lakshmi'.

Chandhravadanaam

Her countenance is like Shndhran

Chandhraam

She is the form of all happiness and She is filled with all happiness;

Her form pleases all alike; She comforts everyone who suffers from

the ills of this worldly life and makes tehm happy. [

`puurvakarmaanavartaanaam dhyaayinaam khedashaantaye, svavajtrendu

kalotthena hlaadayan kokanenatu' – She comforts those who meditate on

Her and gives them comfort from results of their bad karma with Her

beautiful cool face that resembles the moom].

Chandhrasahodariim

When the Milky Ocean was churned, She appeared and so did Chandran, so

she is Chandran's sister!
