Today Lord Ranganatha leaves from his Kannadi Arai (palace of mirror) with Simhagathi (Simhanadai) and goes towards Vahana Mantapam where he would be taking Simha Vaahanam so as to stroll around Chitra Streets.

 

Simha vaahanam has an important significance, as he is a Rangarajan simha vaahanam is more apt for the kings (Aandal's thirupaavai Seeriya simhasanam is an example where the significance of simhasanam is mentioned)

 

We need to blessed to see Namperumal strolling through the Chitra streets in simha vaahanam with simhanadai which would bring a eternal happiness in our heart. (Kanda kangal Matondrinai kaanathey)

 

After coming back to Vaahana Mandapam he leaves to Aasthana Mandapam at around 9 00 AM.

 

In the beautiful evening at around 7 00 PM Lord proceeds through the Chitra streents in Yaali vahanam. This walk is called as Deva nadai (Oyyaram).

 

Yaali is Devaloka pakshi (Deva's birds). This has an important significance, it has a significance in our history that being in srirangam we attain moksham (Heaven) when the time comes for us to leave this earth and this pakshi takes us directly to the heaven since we have his divine blessing from his abhayahastham 

 

My father Anna Rangaraja bhattar, he mentioned when i was an archahar performing kainkaryam (duties) at Srirangam temple that each time we do some karma (Religious ceremoney like Namakarnam, Anna prasanam, choulam(hair offering), Aayush homam, Vidhya rambham, yagyo bhavitha dhaaranam, gruha pravesam and other subha karya homam's, like marriages, seemantham)  in the time we are in this earth we offer Fruits, coconuts , beetle leaves and supaari along with dhakshina namaskaaram which is being calculated by sriranga divya dhampathigal, and when we leave this earth, at that time divya dhampathigal wait with all the thaamboolam that we gave during our life in the earth to take us to heaven

 

Namperumal takes us to the heaven in this Yaali vahanam

 

I am concluding the third day in the chitra festival with this saying that " For our old age Srirangam is the heaven in the earth (booloka vaikuntam) "   

 

Sarva dharman partiyajyaye maam ekam saranam vraja, aham tvam sarva papebyo moksheyaami maasucha (Don't ever worry i am always there with you from bhagavat gita)
