Ashata Prabandham and Desika Prabandham: Audios of Srimathy Padma Veeraraghavan's renderings with introductions by adiyEn

I wrote ealier about Ashta Prabhandham by Sri PiLLai PerumAL IyengAr in the Oonjal Paatu series of postings . I mentioned that the Ashta Prabhandhams are constitured by :

1. ThiruvarangatthandhAthi

2. Thiruvarangatthu Maalai

3. Thiruvaranga Kalambhaham

4. SriranganAthar Unjal ( Oosal)

5. ThiruvEngaDa Maalai

6. ThiruvEnfgadatthandhAthi

7. Azhagar AndhAthi

8. 108 Thiruppathi AndhAthi

The excerpts from the Ashta Prabhandhams have been recorded few years ago by my sister , VidwAmsini Padma Veeraraghavan of Chennai . I have added commentaries to the various Prabhandham seyyuLs ( Verses) recorded here in English .

with Srimath Azhagiya Singar's niyamanam, we are starting a new kaimakryam at Sri Sannidhi .

Currently , Lord Malolan sits on a Unjal inside the SwarNa ( Golden) Mantapam with Dolai KaNNan and the other Murthys adorning that radiant Mantapam .

To the right side of that SwarNa Mantapam is a Silver Box , which serves as the abode of

the ancient SaaLagrAma Murthys of Sri Ahobila Matam going back to hoary past .

adiyEn requested the Permission of Srimath NaarAyaNa Yatheendhra Mahaa Desikan to replace the current Silver box( ThiruppattAram) with a gold covered one to go with the Tanga Mantapam . Srimath Azhagiya Singar has given His niyamanam for such a Kaimakryam .

adiyEn will be cutting a CD and send it as a present to all the participants in this Kaimakryam . The selected verses from the Ashta Prabahnadhams , their recitals , the Raagams chosen and the introductions for them have been described in detail in a April 26, 2009 posting . adiyEn will send it to you seperately for your reference as you hear the recorded version , whose
