Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas, SwAmi NammAzhwAr’s Tirunakshatram is coming up next week (VaikAsi VisAkam). As we meditate and offer our obeisance to our SwAmi NammAzhwAr, here is a short video on AzhwAr . I have spliced a rendition of tanians by VaikuNTha Vaasi Sri Sriram Bharathi. In this video, you get the exquisite anubhavam of AzhwAr from TirukkurugUr, Sri Rangam and TirukkaCCi. Usually, AzhwAr’s valadu tirukkai blesses us (his aDiyArs) with upadEsa mudrai . In Kanchipuram, please note that his valadu tirukkai has upadEsa mudrai directed at his own mind (manas/nenju). Swami Desikan’s nirvAham is that TiruvAimozhi opens with mangaLAsAsanam of DevAdhirAjan (amarargaL athipathi). And, the first pAsuram in the first padigam in TiruvAimozhi ends with “thuyaraRu suDaraDi thozhuthu ezhu en mananE!” – AzhwAr’s upadEsam to his own manas. As a bonus, you also get the anubhavam of Sri Madhurakavi AzhwAr (to the right of SwAmi NammAzhwAr) and Sri NathamunigalL(to the left of SwAmi NammAzhwAr). My special thanks to my friends Sri Veeraraghavan and Sri Ranganathan for sharing these video clips with me. Enjoy. aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan
