My Sastanga Namaskrams to our Namperumal and Sri Ranga Nachiyar.

Here in our Temple in Malibu we are planning to Celebrate Bhoodevi -Sri Andal Birthday on Thiru Aadi Pooram Day(Birthday of Sri Boodevi) all through the day.

Thiru Aadi pooram is a festival which marks the celebration of Sri Godhadevi Andal's Birthday.Universal Divine Mother. (BHOODEVI). Goddess of Earth, wanted to enjoy the beauty and splendor of planet Earth. She accordingly manifested Herself as a little girl in the flower garden attached to the temple in Srivilliputtur, a small town in South India. Sri Ranganatha (incarnation of Vishnu) was the deity in this temple. Perialwar, an ardent devotee of Sri Ranganatha was, as usual, collecting flowers in the temple garden, when he noticed this beautiful child in the midst of tulsi plants. When he picked up the little baby, a voice told him to rear the child as his own daughter. Perialwar did as he was instructed.

The child was given the narne of Kothai. It is also believed that she was born in the earth to protect the earth and bless the people with peace, prosperity and happiness.On the day of Thiru Aadi pooram it is a belief that godess will make all the good wishes to come true.

Saturday (shanivaar) is considered to be a sacred day for Lord Venkateswara (Narayana) and it is a blessing to all of us that Thiru Aadi pooram day falls on July 25 2009 which is also Saturday.

On this beautiful day the following schedule has been planned for celebration at Malibu Hindu Temple.

Thirumanjanam will be performed at around 10 AM for our Venkateswara perumal  which will be followed by Andal thirumanjanam at 11 AM and Abhishekam to our Venkateswara perumal and Bhoodevi.It is a said that offerings certain items to our perumal with purity will bring happiness to all our lives.

Milk is considered to be one of the sacred offering that will bring properityCurd is considered to bring Strength (which means it will give us enough courage to face the challenges in life)Coconut water is the symbol of peacefulness

Turmeric is a symbol of Purtity (it clears out all the worries as a wound gets healed when turmeric is applied over it)Saffron is considered to give us a long, harmonius and a healthy life

At around 3 PM Kalyanothsavam will be performed and please do participate in this for a good and happy life, once after the completion of the Kalyanothsavam Chariot uthsavam will be performed and i personally request everyone to come and pull the chariot so that on pulling the chariot of our Venkateswara perumal will move all the obstacles in our life and it will remove all the bad karma.

Ekantha seva will be following the Kalyanothsavam and offering prayers at the Lotus feet of of our divine Venkateswara perumal will remove all the worries. I personally request everyone receiving this mail to come along with your family and friends to our Malibu Hindu Temple and stay with our Venkateswara perumal and Sri bhoodevi and offer your prayers which will help in vanishing all your worries. Please make all your travel  and accomodation bookings and do come and celebrate the function and make it a grand sucess. Once again reminding all of you that the celebration will be held on July 25 2009
