Dear All,

Some more info. regarding the Varaha temple in Haryana mentioned by Sri. Kumar. Please note that this place is mentioned as the avtahra sthalam of sri varaha.

The Varaha Avatar is worshipped only in the Andhra Pradesh area. The oldest temple associated with the Boar Avatar is found in Multan, now in Pakistan.

The Mahabharata 3.81.15 mentions a Varaha-tirtha in Haryana State where Lord Vishnu appeared as Varaha.

At the place known as Soronksetra Lord Varaha picked up the earth on His tusk. This place is located south of Delhi

After killing the demon Hiranyakasipu, He rested at Vishrama-ghat in Mathura and spoke the Varaha Purana to Mother Earth

Jind City, district headquarters of jind district, is situated about 125 km. from Delhi, the capital of India. The city is on the Delhi-Ferozpur rail route. It is situated in the middle of Haryana.

Varaha

It lies at village Brah 10 kilometers from Jind. According to the Vamana Purana, this well-known tirtha was praised by Vishnu and bathing here is considered as helpful in the attainment of final beatitude. The Padma and the Mahabharta inform us that it was the place of Vishnu who stayed here in his boar incarnation. A stay at this place is considered equivalent to the benefit of an Agnistoma sacrifice.

I however, do not know the authenticity of the above information. Bhakthas residing in Delhi, haryana can try visting the place.

Thank you.
