Guest guest
SrI: Daer Sri Krishna Madhavan : You are correct . Bilva is one of the 8 leaves with which one can perform archanai for the LORD . Our ebooks on PaancharAtram and VaikhAnasam in the Sri Hayagrivan series might make reference to this . MahA Lakshmi is residing also in Bilva Tree and that adds significance to the Bilva Leaves . TuLasi leaves are used generally in VishNu aarAdhanam . Bilva leaves is one of the 8 leaves allowed for archana . NamO SrI NrisimhAya, V.Sadagopan Dear Kumar Swamin, aDiyEn would like to add vaikhAnasa AgamA mentions bilva archana . tirumalA tirupati also has one of the aSOttaraSatanAmArchana (I think in the morning) with bilva leaves for tirumalaiyappan. Also, I think this bilva archana is mentioned in pAncharAtra Agama (lakSmi tantram or viSvaksEna samhitA). The most learned, tiruvanbil rAman mAmA or tiruviNNagar saDagOpan mAmA may be able to confirm this. Regards, aDiyEn dAsan. Krishna (Boulder, CO).
