Guest guest
Dear Bhaagavatas: We thank Sri MG Vasudevan Swamin (vasudevanmg) for offering some other perspectives on Yuyutsu and Vikarnan referred to in the previous Quiz # 11, quoting from Mahabharatham book English translation by Krishna Mohan Ganguli that “yuyutsu and vikarna were different and that yuyutsu joined pandavas and vikarna refused to fight at the crucial moment and was killed”. And, another source that he quotes says that "yuyutsu was also killed". Sri MGV Swamin has promised "to check on Indraprastha being given to yuyutsu and revert once he finds something on this" For want of space, we are not reproducing the full text of his mail. However, we offer our thanks to him for his well researched inputs (as he does always) ================================================================================= The Question# 12 was: “Swami Desika says that Kachchi (Kancheepuram) is the prime one among the seven cities that can grant liberation. "mukti tarum nagar Ezhil mukkiyamaam kachchi tanil...". What are the other 6 cities that are included in the seven cities?” ================================================================================= We have received almost instantaneously overwhelming response from our dear readers. Some of them would appear to have not read the question carefully as requested. They have mentioned ALL the 7 cities including Kachchi (Kaancheepuram) while we requested them to name only 6 others. The reference to the 7 cities appears in Paasuram 1 of “ADaikklap Pathu” (Vide page 245 of Sri Desika Prabnadam by Vangipuram Navaneetam U.Ve. Naimisaaranyam, Srirangam, Badrikaasramam etc. Better luck next time for them! ============================================================================= At the end of this note, we provide Question # 13.
