ANDAL is the progeny of that anjum kudi is one meaning.PeriyAzhwAr had four sons already. With Andal, the size of the family of PeriyAzhwAr became Four + one =five. If Sri Manavala Maamunigal wanted to convey the “fear†aspect, he would have used the word “anjum†not “anju†which means “aindu†or ‘fiveâ€. AAAnother instance is the mispronunciation of “VaTa pathra Sayee†which means the one who reclines on the leaf of a

banbanyan tree. Some have pronounced it as “VaDa bhadra Sayeeâ€. There is no “VaDa†and no “Bhadra†in the name!
