On the 27th day of the sacred month of Maarghazhi , We celebrate the "Koodarai Vellum seer Govindhan" utsavam and offer the Lord 100 vessels filled with butter and another hundred vessels filled with Sweet Pongal ( akkAra adisil) . This is in rememberance of Andal's promise of samarpaNam of 100 vessels of AkkAravadisil for ThirumAlirumchOlai Azhagar ( NaacchiyAr Thirumozhi : 9.6 and 9.7 Paassurams) and AchArya RaamAnujA's fulfilment of Her promise later as Her elder brother ( GodhAgrajar) at the Lord's sannidhi . ANdal acknowledged the MahOpakAram of Her "elder Brother" and came out of Her Garbha Graham at SrivilliputthUr to greet Him and honor Him .

On January 11 , 2010 ( Maarghazhi 27) , Sri NaarAyaNa Yatheendhra Mahaa Desikan and Sri Ranganatha Yatheendhra Mahaa Desikan of Ahobila Matam will be presenting 100 vessels of AkkAravadisil to MalOlan and Dolai KaNNan in Silver and Golden vessels . After the abhigamana AarAdhanam for that day and AkkAravadisil SamarpaNam , the silver and the gold vessels used in the morning's samarpaNam would be presented as divine gifts to the sponsors for use in their nithyArAdhanams or as sacred gifts to their Family Members or Friends .

 

During the past years , number of Sri Matam SishyAs and AbhimAnis sponsored individual vessels of Silver used in the samarpaNam and were in turn blessed with the gift of the Vessels that they cherish .
