My Sastanga Namaskarams to our ever Periya Perumal Sriranganthan and

Our Periya pirattiyar Sriranganayaki.

Sri Ranganatha is the savior of all creatures. He protects them. Since

Sri Rangam is the abode of the Lord Himself, this is the ONLY place

on earth which is worth being called as " Bhooloka Vaikuntham " . Blessed

are those who are born in Sri Rangam, those who live in Sri Rangam,

and those who end their materialistic existence by leaving their body

in Sri Rangam. One must always consider it a goal in life to visit Sri

Rangam at least once. But the best thing to do is - Be born, live and

get Moksham in Sri Rangam.

 

 

It is a great pleasure for me to get in touch with all of you through

this email, after a long time! Before I start, I pray to our Azhagiya

Manavalan to bless one and all on account of the grand ustavam -

Theppautsavam.

 

All His devotees eagerly await HIS arrival in front of their houses.

All the streets are decorated grandly with kolams and rangolis to

welcome Azhagiya Manavalan. There is so much pomp and glory with so

many goshti, nadaswaram, tavil, lights and crackers. The whole

procession is led by an elephant and a horse.The lord stops at regular

intervals on the streets to accept harathi and prayers offered by HIS

devotees. He jumps and sways and moves swiftly and gently on the

streets. His the 8th day, Namperumal starts around 3PM and goes to

south chitra street and half through west chitra street, reaches the

Theppa mandapam. After the shodashopachara puja, He reaches the center

of the theppa mandapam. By around 7PM, He gets on to the Theppam and

goes 3 rounds amidst the blossomed lotuses. It is believed that all

the sorrows and worries would be washed away by witnessing this

utsavam. Namperumal goes around the Theppam wiping away the sins and

sorrows. Since we cannot see Sriman Narayana with Thayar in Parkadal,

His journey through the Theppam is the representation of Sriman

Narayana HIMSELF! Our Azhagiya Manavalan's eye sight falls on all,

regardless of whether they are rich or poor, male or female, child or

adult, theist or atheist...all such differences are only to the

egoistic and materialistic human eyes. Namperumal is kind to one and

all without being partial to anybody. The more interest, affection and

devotion we express in HIM, the more He pulls us towards Himself . Our

Azagiyamanavalan moves in different styles (nadai) on each street..

 

 

I personally request all the devotees to seek the blessing of our

Azagiyamanavaalan in this Garuda vaahanam so that he brings purity and

removes the poisonous thougths (Ego / Jealousy and other unwanted

thoughts) from our mind in no time

Nammai Azagiya manavaalan Rakshikkatum!
