In our continuing series of providing commentaries for the individual stabakams of SrI lakshmI sahasram, we are releasing on this auspicious SravaNa dwAdaSi day, the sadma vaibhava stabakam (stabakam # 18) as the 10th eBook in the alamelumanga eBooks series.

 

This stabakam by SrI VenkatAdvAri kavi comprises of 40 slokams in which we can enjoy his high art of poetry dedicated to Vaachika/ Maanaseeka Kaimakryam for Mahaa Lakshmi . The ease with which the composer , a great admirer/student of Kavi Taarkika Simham uses intricate meanings of words (sleDai) in Sanskrit to bring out many beautiful thoughts about pirATTi's vaibhavam. Praising the Lotus as being fortunate in being chosen by pirATTi to be Her choice place of residence, the kavi compares the lotus to EmperumAn's chest as being another favorite place of residence of pirATTi. Finally the kavi declares his inability to make use of such lofty comparisons and gives up the effort as being futile as both (EmperumAn's chest as well as the Lotus) are beyond his limits of description. .
