Dear Bhagavadas,

This panguni uthtiram day was marked with many milestones in the history of Sri Emperumanar Sannidhi Alwarthirunagari. I was talking about the renewed vigour and energy seen in the temple's first ever reconstruction process after 800 years.

 

An Architect, one Archaeologist, two engineers, tens of hired building workers gathered today and the temple preist performed the Bhoomi Poojai at the North-east corner of the temple. HH Sri Devarajara ramanuja jeeyar swamigal blesses all the workers to commence and perform their work for the temple without hinderance.

 

Bhoomi poojai started with prana prathistabhanam of Sri Bhoomi devi Nachiyar and then ghosti members headed by HH emperumanar jeeyar performed Boo Suktham, thirupavai and nachiar thirumozhi ghosti. A grand Veniyokam (prasadam distribution) followed by HH Jeeyar swamigal presented a token advance of Rs 1,00,001 /_ to the hired engineering workers.

 

Rajagopuram work is inching towards completion, few more finishing work are left to complete. These engineering workers has lots of admiration for the rare architectural construction inside the rajagopuram. Every engineers surveyed this temple has great admiration for the wooden artifacts present in the interiors of the rajagopuram. Nobody isn't very sure of the reason, why such architectural treasure is kept in a hidden place such as the interior of the rajagopuram. Well, if anyone had a chance to visit this temple, please take little bit time to look around the wooden architectural beauty inside the rajagopuram.

 

Now, Thirumadapali (temple's kitchen) is the next reconstruction target. Current thirumadapali is just 8 feet high and there isn't enough space for more than few cooks working simultenously. Now, with the new construction plan , thirumadapali is targetted for 15 feets height and with proper ventilation and space for more cook to operate simultenously.

 

With aging of the temple structure, it is been measured that udaiyar temple's asthivaram (foundation) might have gone down by atleast 2 feet. This is not very bad, for a temple constructed 800 years before. We were told that there is no need to panic for any "pronto" needs for karbhagraham reconstructions. Engineers are recommending to start this activity at a convinent time. Tamil month of chithirai and vaikasi are two important months, so reconstruction of karbhagraham will take place during non-udasavadi months and this will be decided on a latter time. I will inform this group on the dates.

Financial Status:

 

Vedics organisation has helped this temple devasthanam to think about Reconstruction. Entire Rajagopuram reconstruction work was contributed by Vedics - USA. Madras cements - Thulukapatti is another major contributor for the cement requirement and they are giving 60 - 70% of the needed cement for free and they might charge the remaining portion for the cost of just 40% of the current market price. Many alwarthirunagari matham followers and emperumanar devotees has contributed / promised for several lakhs of rupees. Soon, the donor list will be out with the auditted report, and the auditted report will be easier to share with this group.
