Humble pranam to all devotees:

 

The purpose of life for every SriVaishnava is to attain eternal bliss

(constant service to Lord Srimannarayana). The Ashtadasa Rahasyas leads

us to this goal. This is why Swami Pillai Lokachar gave us these written

Granthas that were previously passed on only orally from Acharya to

Sishya. He wanted to preserve and share this knowledge with all of us

(the future generations). This shows his concern and love for us. For

all that he has done for us we should try to learn these Rahasyas in our

life time.

 

Swami Pillai Lokacharya is hailed as that very special Acharya, who

synthesized the essential philosophy of Sri Vaishnavam and Azhvars,

into a form accessible to one and all. His ashTAdaSa rahasyas, essential

guidebooks for every practicing Sri Vaishnava, lay down the principles

of Ramanuja Darshanam with crystal clear clarity and insight. Of all his

works, mumUkshuppadi, tatva trayam and srI vaCana bhUshaNam

deserve special mention, because they condense the essence of vEdanta

and divya prabhandam in the form of easily assimilated sutras,

aphorisms.

 

One hundred and sixty five years later,Swami ManavAla Mamunikal

took birth in this world, as Punaravathara of Swamy Ramanuja himself.

He was in this world from 1370 CE. to 1443 CE.

165 years after Swami Pillai Lokacharya's birth, SriVaishnavism was in

disarray, due to muslim invasions, and mis-interpretations of

poorvacharyas' works. This avathara's purpose was to set right

Srivaishnava sampradhayam that was so carefully built by our Poorvacharyas.

 

Because of his compassion for all devotees. Swami Manavala mAmunikal,

Adisesha Avathara, explains the meanings of these great works through

his magnificent commentaries. For all that he has done for us we should

try to learn these Rahasyas in our life time.

 

Sri U.Ve Velukkudi Krishnan Swami has put together these works in

a magnificent set of upanyasams. The set contains 127 hours of discourse

and the book with all of Sri Pillai Lokacharya Swami's works. Set two of

this series has also been released.

 

With sri Velukkudi Swami's leadership and guidance, Swami Pillai

Lokacharya's Thiruvarasu - Jyothishkudi - samprokshana kainkaryam is

planned on April 12 2007.
