Guest guest
Dear Sriman Sadagopan, Look forward to knowing that. I once read a non-Vaishnavite sanskrit scholar saying that this Sloka's origins were dubious. Keeping thayar on the same platform as "vambulAm kUndhal" mandodari, draupadi, ahalya and tara does not seem to be in good taste, though the latter four are par excelled in their Seshatvam to the Lord. adiyen ramanuja dasan Vishnu --------------------- dear shri vishnu, this is a slokam which my wife says she has been reciting from childhood. as such, i am not able to give you the source readily. i shall however try to find out and let you know. thanks for your interest.regards, dasan, sadagopan Be a better Globetrotter. Guest guest
SrI: A traditional Sanskrit exhortation runs thus: Ahalya Draupadi Kunti Tara Mandodari tatha panchakanya svaranityam mahapataka nashaka " Remembering ever the virgins five – Ahalya, Draupadi, Kunti, Tara and Mandodari Destroys the greatest sins. " You will find insightful articles on pancha kanyas in boloji.com, in the following links. Guest guest
Dear Sriman Lakshminrusimhan, Even exclusive worship ot SakkaratthAzhwAr does not seem to be there with Purvacharyas other than Koora Narayna Jeeyar and the tradition is to worship Srimannarayana as " samasta parivArAya " . Though there is nothing wrong in worshipping the parivAra dEvatAs of the Lord, people sometimes make " AnjanEyar " , " sudharSanar " more powerful than the Lord Himself! It is not even right to say narasimha to be more powerful than Kodanda Rama/Venugopala Krishna, because it is the same Lord Srimannarayana. The Lord in any form deserves the same level of attention, love and affection, though He DOES NOT need any of them, and is beyond any doubt far more powerful than His parivAra dEvatAs! adiyen ramanuja dasan Vishnu ramanuja , " v.lakshminrusimhan " <v.lakshminrusimhan wrote: > > So is panchamuka AnjanEyar the worship of whom has no relevance to > srivaishnava sampradayam:) > adiyEn, > rAmAnuja dAsan >
