Guest guest
Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara munayE Namaha Ani, Sarvajith Azhvar 9, Acharya 3 Let us have a glimpse into PeriyAzvAr thirumozhi. Sri PeriyAzvAr is known for his unique thinking and great love for EmperumAn. He has sung andhAdhi. He has given paNNiRu thirunamam in pAsuram-s. ' The pASuram kadhir Ayiram is unique with one asking about the Lord and the other replying about the witnesses -vuLLAvA kaNDAr vuLar. This can go on. Here are a few droplets EmperumAn as AchArya The thaniyan for ThiruppallANDu commences Guru mukam anadhEthya - Without learning from an AchArya. Does it mean that our sampradhayam encourages such a method? No. EmperumAn was his AchArya which is known from the pAsuram yEadhangaL Ayinavellam inangaL iduvithu ennuLLEa pEthaga Adai pirAnAr pirama GuruvAgi vandhu PeriyazvAr thirumozhi 5-2-8 mangaLA SAsanam the lifeline mAmunikal says in upadESa rathinamalai mangaLASASanatthil matthulla AzhvArkaL thangaLARvatthu aLavu thAninitnri " Pongum parivAlE " villiputthUr paTTarpirAn petthAn periyAzhvAr ennum peyar Periyaazhvar is periyazhvar not because he is the first azhvars, or leader among the azhvars or king among azhvars. He got that title because of his Pongum parivu towards emperuman. It is well known that Sri PeriyAzvAr's ThiruppallANDu being mangaLA sAsanam is the highlight of Sri PeriyazvAr's emotional concern for welfare for EmperumAn. This is not just confined to ThiruppallANDu the undercurrent of this runs through periyazvAr thirumozhi.. Here are few quotes Sri PeriyAzvAr as YasOdhA On hearing that there has been a confrontation between kAlingan and krishNA YasOdha lament that I should have ceased to live no sooner that I heard that He is in tiff with the serpent. There is nobody else with such hard mind. nAgathinOdu piNangavum nAn vuyir vAzhndhirundhEan 3-3-6 and ennil manam valiyAl oru peNNillai 3-3-2 PeriyAzvAr thirumozhi Recognizing mangaLA sAsanam of others The localities of ThirumAlirunjOlai on new harvest don new dress and submit fresh eatables to EmperumAn and appeal that He should live long PeriyAzvhAr refers this in the pAsuram puNai thiNai kiLLi pudhuvavi nATTi vun ponnadi vAzhga enRu inakk kuravar pudhiyadhuNNum ezhil mAl irum sOlai enthAi. PeriyAzvAr Thirumozhi 5-3-3 PiLLaith thamizh/Motrherly love The PiLLaith thamizh of PeriyAzvAr is wonderful because he becomes yasOdha and not just simulates. This is understood from several pAsuram-s. nEsam illAdhAr agathu nE viLayAdAthEa pOdharAyEa- 2-9-8; AzvAr- Yasodha counsels kaNNan not to vist the neighbouring places who scold him These are not just piLLait thamizh but motherly love.
