Guest guest Posted September 7, 2007 Report Share Posted September 7, 2007 " 7th Sept 2007 Dear Asthikas, I would like to share an interesting and important function held at NKT Girls Higher Sec School, Triplicane Chennai 600 005 on Sunday 2nd Sept 07 . The whole auditorium was packed to its full capacity.Infact many were standing and one can say it was overflowing.It was neither a movie star participating function nor any political or any celebrity function.VIP'S were none other than our children who are going to be pillars, to our Srivaishnava Sampardaic Values . The program was organised By SRIMAAN TRUST Founded by Sri U ve Parasra Badri Narayana Bhattar Swami of Srirangam. The Trust has taken up the noble cause of of inculcating our Srivaishnava Sampradaic values to our children by teaching them Ramayana , Mahabharatha ,Divya Prabandham,Poorvacharya's work etc. The Trust Conducted Ramayana Competetion for School Children in June 07 and as many as 250 Students in the age group of 5 to 14 from various schools in Chennai participated and the 2nd phase of the competition was held on 2nd Sept 07 and followed by cultural program and prize distribution function in the evening. Sri Uve Paramahamsaethyadhi Appan Parakala Ramanuja Embar Jeeyar Swami Presided over the Function and was attended by Vidwans Sri Uve V V Ramanujam Swamy , Sri Uve K B Devarjan Swamy, and Sri Uve M A Venkatakrishnan Swamy. Children in the age group of 5 to 14 gave outstanding performances on Ramayana and Alwars reciting extensively from Nallaiyiram, Commenteries of Swami Ramanujar , Bhattar and Pillai Lokachariar Etc. There was Pattimanram on who is better of the 4 brothers namely Rama, Lakshmana, Bhartaha, and Shathrukana.It was amazing to see children quoting from Valmiki Ramayanam , Thiruppavai etc to explain the greatness of the 4 Brothers. There was also a very interesting meet between Nammaazwhar and Thirumangai Alwar.The Children [will not be more than12 yrs] who played the role of these Alwars were simply superb and they were able to narrate the works of these Alwars with ease and perfection. It brought tears ,to hear Azhwar's works from these kids,in their own sweet innocent voice. The Founder of the Trust Sri U Ve Badri Narayana Bhattar Swamy in his Speech out lined the importance of passing on the Knowlege and values of our Srivaishnava Sampradayam to the younger generation. He Called up on the parents to play a vital role in sending their wards to participate in these programs so that similar centers can be opened all over Tamil Nadu. Sri U Ve Bhattar Swamy Explained the basic idea of the Trust is to create the awareness of our Srivaishnava Sampradayam to the younger generation and to guide them to follow the same in their life . I am sure that children who are getting trained under him will develop ATHMA GUNAS and will become A TRUE SRI VAISHNAVANAs members of this RAMANUJA GROUP, i feel we should support him in his noble cause.The Trust Address is as follows.
