22ND SEP - UNFORGETTABLE DAY IN SRIMAAN TRUST HISTORY

" Hey Sita! Hey Lakshmana! Come and See the Exquisite drama of the children! It reminds me of the past!! " might be SriRama's exclamation on 22nd September in Srirangam.

It was the 'Sangamam' of Festivals celebrated by Srimaan Trust on their Function of Prize Distribution to students of SriRamayana Contest-Balakandam 2007. Many hundreds of Students and their Parents along with public were very much impressed by the Interlocution of characters of SriRamayanam, enacted by Students of Srimaan Bhattar Kuzham.

The Prime Festival of Prize Distribution was affiliated with anniversaries of Srimaan Bhattar Kuzham, Sri Gnyanapiran Library and Sathsambandhangal, opening of Srimaan Bhattar Gurukulam, Introduction of Van to SBK Students and Distribution of Scholarships, uniforms, and notebooks. Really, it was a large bunch of festivals and rejoiceful to the audience.

The function started with a prayer song .

Srimath Paramahamsedthyathi SriRanga Narayana Jeeyar Swamy remindful of his elderness was present and in his mangalasasanam narrated the ventures of Srimaan Trust and blessed them for the ultimate growth and success of the trust and its students. Being a very long timed tuteler (well wisher) of our founder Trustee, Jeeyar Swamy has never missed a single function of our Trust. His presence equaled the presence of Emberumanar himself. Dr.V.Jayapal, Chairman of DVN hospital participated as a chief guest and uniforms and notebooks were issued by him to selected needy students of various schools at Srirangam. Dr. Jaypal's address was excellent and impressed the students and audience with his advices of character building and duty binding.

Previously the Welcome address was delivered by Smt. Jayalakshmi and after Mangalasasanam of Jeeyar Swamy the cultural programmes were performed by SBK Students.

Sri Ranga Nachiar Vaibhavam was a brief narration about Thayar's purushakaram given by sel Vanjulavalli, student of SBK. Following that was a comedy story from Sri Annangaracharya's " Hasya Kathaigal " , performed by an exquisite dialogue between a grandma and her grand daughter. The quintessence of the dialogue was to be cautious of avoiding not only Bhagavad Apacharam but also the aptness or Hethu for Bhaagavatha Apacharam. When the Public enjoyed the debate between Maaran & Kaliyan, it was very difficult to conclude the greatness of Maaran or Kaliyan because both their prowess were excelled in different angles.

Prize Distribution was well planned. Distribution of Gold Coins and other prizes along with certificates to all participants for hundred of students was cleverly and skillfully handled by the volunteers of trust.

Prize Distribution was followed by a group dance of children with the message of beckoning all to chant Rama ( " Rama Jappo!!,Rama Jappo !! ,Bavare " )

The convener of the trust proposed the vote of thanks.

By the grace of AzhvAr EmberumAnAr and Jeeyar and the maha purushas who graced the occasion the entire function was a roaring success.

Taking some cues from the event based on SrimadRamayana, we, motivated by the great service of Lakshmana, Bharata or ShatruGna, should atleast try to do the kainkaryam of the squirrel . We are still budding and in this stage small drops can make an ocean.

With your support and the grace of the acharyas who blessed varthadAm abhivarthadAm , the objectives of Srimaan Trust will soon attain perfection.
