Guest guest
Dear Sridhar Swamin Kanchi (Thirukkachchi Nagar) has innumerable number of Divya Desams with Mangalasasanams by Alwars. Though I am not able to provide you a road map, may I offer some suggestions. 1. Provide yourself at least 3 days (or more) to cover all Divya Desams 2. Some of the temples (e.g. Vilakkoli Perumal) are not having full time Bhattar or Archakar. To ensure your being at the temple when it is open, get hold of the archakar beforehand. 3. You can obtain guidance from the bigger temple archakas (such as Sri Varadhar Temple), and may also help you with a local vaishnavite guide who can take you through all Divya Desams in Kanchi. You can request for this. 4. Please try and support some of the Divya Desam Temples that need our support. 5. If you are visiting during Dhanur Masam you need to be early in all temples. 6. Keep an autorikshaw throughout the day with you for convenience, but many Divya Desams are within walking distance of each other. Some Divya Desams are within each other (e.g Ulagalanda Perumal Temple) Hope you enjoy your visit AdiyEn DAsan On 1/8/08, Sridhar Rajagopalan <sridhardasan wrote: Dear All, Could anyone tell me a tried and tested out sequence of visiting Vaishnawa Divya Desams in Kanchi? I may reach Kanchipuram, either by train/bus/two-wheeler from Tambaram. So I am not sure which will be the first temple that we would come across. The info that I am looking for is, when I am at a particular temple, I need to know the next nearby temple. Once this chain is known, I can traverse it starting it from anywhere. I need this info mainly if I am on my own (take a bike), or hire a auto who doesn't know much. Though my focus is on Vaishnawite Divya Desams alone, there could be some other places of interest, such as Salai Kinaru, Swami Desigan sannidhi etc. which may have tremendous importance but not in the dhivya desam list. Further in the above list include Thiruputkuzhi temple also. Also if there are any other points to note, for instance, they say if you visit pachchai varnar, you must visit pavazha varnar also and that too one first & followed by the other. Tips like these will also help, so that we can make the best out this trip. Hope some of you, who have good knowledge of Kanchi Dhivya Desams can guide me in this respect.
