Thank you so much for including Tamil words in your posts.

 

In general, I find the unicode Tamil to be so unnatural and hard to

read.. Is there any initiative to make it look like normal Tamil

words?! Is there any 'technique' to read this type of Tamil?!

> naRkalaigaL Ayndhuraiththa AzhvArgaL: Vedas, which are in Sanskrit,

can be learnt onlyby a chosen few with great effort. It is also

difficult to comprehend the meanings.However, the works of Azhvars are

in the simple language of Tamil which can belearnt by one and all

without restriction based on caste and sex. They at thesame time

contain the essence of Vedas.

> naRkalaigaL: This refers to Vedas which are free from any kind

ofdefects and spoken as the final authority. Azhvars were bestowed

with the truemeaning of Vedas by Sriman Narayanan Himself. Their works

is full of glory andauspicious activities of the Lord of Sri Mahalakshmi.

> iruL nIngka: Azhvars were notconnected with the worldly things. They

had taken birth in this world for thesole purpose of dispelling

ignorance of darkness. Gross ignorance prevails onlyin this world.

That is why it is referred to as ‘irul tharuma jalam’. The otherworld,

Paramapadam, is bright and possesses complete knowledge. Therefore,

itis ‘thali visumbu’. There is no necessity for these teachings to

those lodgedat Paramapadam. The ‘arivila manisar’ are in this world

required to beenlightened. So Azhvars came down to this earth. For

dispelling darkness some bright light isa must. The Sun or Adithya

provides light in this world. We need Adithyas fordispelling our inner

darkness. For us the ‘Parankusa Adithya’ and ‘KavimlokaDivakaram’ and

‘Ramanuja Divakaram’ are Adithyas. In the same way all other

Azhvarshave also served the need to remove ignorance. By their

teachings they removedthe status of lack of knowledge, dispelled our

> sins and also routed ourlaziness.

> mAdhangkaL nALgaL thammai maNNulagOr thAm aRiya IdhenRu solluvOm

yAm: The twelve Suns (Dwadasa Adityas) transit in twelvemonths. Alwars

took birth from the month of Iyappasi (Ashwaiyam) onwards. Notethe

usage ‘vandu uditta’. That means from the eternal world they came down

to theearth. nALgaL refers to stars. TenStars positioned between

Thiruvonam to Kettai. By knowing the birth month andstar of each

Azhvar and celebrating the auspicious day with the recitation oftheir

works and thereby remembering their kindness shown to us, we get

salvationand solace in this world. Their birth is as reverential to us

as the birth ofLord in the nakshatra (star) Punarvasu, Rohini and

Swathi etc.

Swamy Manavala Mamuni all are his disciples. Therefore he isdisclosing

these details.
