This is a Unicode font which should appear in all browsers (Windows XP upwards). If you cannot read tamil fonts, please go to view-character encoding-and click UTF8. You don't need to install any fonts. So the day has triple importance for Sri Vaishnavas. vAyththa pugazh: natural humility gave him greatness. This Azhvar was born in a panan sect, which is considered as low caste. The Azhvar is devoid of any ego and full of humility. The implicit obedience of the devotee of Lord (Loka-saranga- mini) gave him fame. He performed the service of praising Lord with his song as muktas do at Parama-padam. ‘sama gayan nasthey. In the Ramanusa Nootrandadhi this Azhvar is described ‘seeria nan marai sem porulai sen tamizal aliththa’ indicating that in the rendition of his prabandam Amalanadipiran this Azhvar adopted the technique of explaining pranavam (the syllable Om) by starting each stanza with the letters ‘ah’ ‘ou’ and ‘ma’. These three letters constitute the compound letter ‘om’. The Pranava prithi-padhyan is Lord Ranganatha. The description of Rangnatha commencing from holy feet and up to the head and particularly the benevolent eyes of the Lord is a unique rendition. Swami Manavala Mamuni wishes that we should learn the prabandham Amalanadipiran and then glorify the birth date of the Azhvar for our emancipation.
