" UPLIFTING THIRUKKULATHAR "

A small team of Kainkaryasree of Srimaan Trust set out by our founder Acharya on 7th May '08 to distribute used clothes to financially and socially challenged " Thirukkulathars " . A lot of children's clothes were already collected for this purpose. A number of toys were also added to the consignment.

The team first visited a slum where a young woman had given birth to a twin just 4 months back. When the team approached the hut, the young woman, her mother and 2 younger brothers looked with dubious eyes. The woman cradling her children in her arms with no dress on them was very much surprised when she was explained the purpose of our visit and exclaimed to her mother and brother with great joy in her eyes. The children and the boys were issued suitable clothing and toys.

Before we finished and started to move on, an old woman came hurrying and requested us to visit her place to find 50 needy children. It was a children centre (Nursery called Anganwadi) of the state scheme. Actually 2 centers (No. 9 & 10) with 25 children each were operating in a single building due to lack of space. All the children of both the centers received the clothing with sparkling eyes and their joy grew more when they were offered biscuits too. All the toys were handed over to the centre to be used commonly among the children.

Having exhausted all the materials, we returned with their thanks and weight in our hearts. Let us all pray the divya dampathi of Srirangam and Alwar and Acharya dispel their poverty to come into the right path undiverted by external elements in the name of religion.

At night there was a heavy rain in Srirangam, may be in appreciation of the venture by the divya dampathi.
