The following is the short story of how a vaishanava is to behave Our great muni Parashara Bhattar's student lived in some place other

than Thirupathi. Once the student asked his teacher Who is called a

perfect Vaishnava?. He said go to Thirupathi and there is person named

Ananthacharya who is the student of our great Ramanuja Acharya. He is

the best person to answer this question.

The student of Parashara Bhatter anxiously goes to thirupathi to know

the answer .He reaches Thirupathi and meets Anantha Acharya. He asks him

"Respected Sir Who is a perfect vaishnava?". Anantha acharya wont

reply. The Student & nbsp; will serve Ananth & nbsp; acharya for 6

months and still he doesnt know the answer.

So the student of Parashara Bhattar , after serving for 6 months one

day there will be a pooja and then the student will be serving prasadam

to everyone .Then after prasadam is served, Anantha acharya comes to

this student and answers that "YOu are the perfect Vaishnava". You are

like a Rooster and like SALT. The student doesnt understand the meaning

of what Anantha acharya said. He goes back to his Guru Parashara

Bhattar and seems confused because he doesnt understand what is the

value of a Rooster and Salt in relation with Vasihnava.

Parashara Bhattar smiles and says "My dear student a Rooster when picks

up food for its kids, though there is lot of other waste material in a

pile of food , it picks ONLY the food leaving out other waste stuff. So

a true Vaishnava picks Only what is good from the society leaving the

other stuff.

Salt is the thing which melts itself to give good taste to the food we

eat. Similarly a true Vaishnava should sacrifice himself for the good

of others.Salt also shows itself as so insignificant that it doesn't

want to show that it exists but serve the food to give good taste. So a

vaishnava doesn't want to show that he even exists but he keeps serving

a lot to others."

So a Vaishnava has to be insignificantly serve others and pick only good things from what he gets.

Another perfect feature of a devotee is to treat others pain as our pain as said by our Holiness Chinna Jeeyar Swami vaaru.
