any place equal to Thenkurugai. No. None. In the

previous verse the birth of Nammzhvar was praised. In this verse his place of

birth, his date of birth and the Prabandhams rendered by him are glorified one

by one highlighting the unparalleled glory. undO

vaikAsi visAgaththukku opporu nAL?: Thiru Visakam is fortunate to

have Nammzhvar who wished well to Lord (sarvesvaran) and His Vibhoothis

(possessions or wealth). ‘Nee pirantha nan-nalal’ is for the Lord Krishna and

Visakam is the birth day of Nammzhvar,(Krishna

thrishna thatvam). Obviously the later is more glorified. During Krishna’s time

a few like Akroora were benefited by the Lord, whereas Swami Nammzhvar has

uplifted even those forsaken by Lord. ‘Nin kan vatkai ezu-vip-panay’ (He will

awaken in all of us an intense interest in Lord.) undO

sadakOparkku opporuvar?: Satakopar was possessing supreme knowledge.

There is no comparison to his knowledge. His food, drink and everything else is

Krishna to him. The thought of Bhagwan is so sweet to Azhvar. He called Bhagwan

as ‘alap-pariya araamudhu.’ (unmeasuarable nector). For Azhvar ‘ellam

Kannan’. Azhvar claims ‘vinnil-ulari-lum

seeri-yar-gal’ ( greater than those who

live in Paramapadam). This world is full of ignorance. Indulgence in the

thoughts of Bhagwan in this material world is considered superior to such

practice in Paramapadam. thiruvAymozhikku

oppu undo?: As there is

no comparison to Azhvar, there is no comparison to his Prabandhams. The Prabhandhams

were born out of grace of Lord and the Azhvar himself was a poet belonged to

Thirumal. (Thirumalavan kavi). The Prabhandhams are outpourings of the

experiences of Azhvar with Lord. (Avavil andhadhigal.) The Prabhandhams contain essence of Vedas

and all the knowledge enshrined in other

Sastras. All other works are like the sound of sea waves, meaning useless. Azhvar

gave the Prabhandhams out of kindness towards us. ‘Arul kondu aiyeram inthamiz

padinan.’ Thus Thiruvoimozi is supreme. then

kurugaikku okkum oru Ur undo?: The glory of the place of birth of Azhvar is

not equal to any other place in the eighteen worlds. At best one can say

Paramapadam. (Thiru-nadu-vazi Then-Kurugai-vazi.) In this place several good

natured people live. (Nallar palar vazum Kurugoor.). Azhvar Emberumanar Jeeyar
