Dear Sreekanth,

That should not be difficlut i presume as this is prose and not poetry. They appeared to have adapted the grammar suitably at appropriate places.

For exampele

Srivachana bHushaNam first sUthram

it is

like this

VedArthA aRudhiyiduvadhu smrithi idhihAsa purAnathAlA

The final AlEa is thamizh. It is appropriately gelled with the word purANAm.

another one

idhisAsa srEShtam-Ana Sri RamAyanath-il

The AlEA in the first sUthram is tamil vEATRumai vurubu wonderfully merged with the word 'purANAm' -refer to the lecture by Sri PBA svAmi on Sri MaNavALa mAmunikaL.

Likewise, the word 'Ana' and the preposition -'il' are all tamil grammar appropriately gelled with sanskrit words.

THE MANI-PRAVALAM STYLE

The ManiprAvaLa style of commentary is unique to our commentaries. Proficient, in both sanskrit and tamil, our pUrvAchAryas deemed it best to coin the words in both the languages freely mixing the same. This gave the listeners/readers teremondous experience. The sentences were not just tamil or merely sanskrit, they were both resulting in a unique langauge -the maNi-p-pravALam.

Adien.

I think if we expand the word manipravaalam, mani maniayi pravahikkum sorkkal. Here the word prvaha is 'course'- Sanskrit.Pravaalam is Tamizh And, 'maniyai' is Tamizh. The entire word is Tamizh. There is no equivalent in Sanskrit. Hence, the grammar used in Manipravaalam is Tamizh Grammar.

Adien would like to add for the benefit of all. When we write TAMIL, it should be TAMIZH.

The above thought is, of course, subject to correction. Tamizh pandits can enlighten us.

Adien,

Pelapur Varadarajan.
