Vyakhyana Saram:

The devas bearing the garlands made of flowers from the Karpaga(Kalpa) tree are reciting Veda mantras and are urgently waiting for Your orders. You who do not distinguish between devas, asuras, men, animals, etc and accept everyone's service should wake upand accept our service. In the previous pasuram, Azhvar indicated that the bees in thefields had woken up ("vayaluL irindhana surumbinam"). In thispasuram, he is stating that the birds in the gardens, which wake up only after the morning has well arrived, have woken up. Thedifference between the two is the same as that between thosein His service and the samsaris who are trapped in their senses. The former are like the bees that wake up as soon as it dawns;the latter are like the birds that enjoy the flowery gardensand wake up well into the morning.
