Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujayanama: During a recent visit to Srirangam, Adiyen is very fortunate to visit some of the Divyadesams around Trichirapalli. One of them, Thayar Senbagavalli sameda Sri Pundarikatsha Perumal (Senthamarai Kannan) koil at Thruvellarai is very special as Udayavar stayed there, preached and spread Srivaishnavam. When Udayavar was staying at this temple town, Thiruvellarai, the Arayars and baghavadas of Srirangam wanted Udayavar to come and stay in Srirangam. All their efforts to bring him to Srirangam were not successful. Once it happened that an Arayar Swamy was in Thiruvellarai with the intention to somehow bring Udayavar to Srirangam. Knowing the great admiration and reverence to the Dhivyaprabandam by Udayavar, the Arayar Swamy adopted an unique method to attract Udayavar. He started singing the Divyaprabandam, in particular, the 10 pasurams composed by Namazhwar, starting with "Inniyur Seval" (Thiruvaiozhi 3610) again and again in melodious voice in his own style (Arayar Sevai), moving towards Srirangam. Udayavar on hearing the melodious rendering of the Dhivyaprabandam, followed the Arayar Swamy urged by his devotion to Dhivyaprabandam. After reaching Srirangam he stayed permanently in the temple bound by the grace and benevolence of Sri Ranganathaswamy. (Ref. Discourse by Sri Velgudi Krishnan Swamy) Adiyean is pleased to share, the detailed photographs taken at the Sri Pundarikatsha Perumal Koil at Thiruvellarai, with the members of the Group. Details of the Sthalapuranam and other general details are attached to this mail.
