Shloka 15:nidrAyitAnnigamavartmani chArudarshI prasthAnashaktirahitAnpratibodhya jantUn |jIrNastanandhayajaDAndhamukhAnivAsmAnnetum mukunda! yataso dayayA saha tvam ||

Meaning:

mukunda - O Deepa Prakasha!tvam - YoudayayA saha - with Your gracechAru darshI - look only at the good intents.asmAn - We jantUn iva - who are like creatures that arejIrNa - elderly, stanandhaya - infant,jaDa - ignorant, andha mukhAn - and blind, nidrAyitAn - are sleeping (without going)nigama vartmani - in the path said by the Vedasshakti rahitAn - and without the strengthprasthAna - to walk (in that path).yatase - You are trying topratibodhya - wake (us) upnetum - and lead us in that good path.

Vyakhyana Saram:

Swami Desikan talks further about the quality of sauhArdam in thisshloka.Through the phrase 'nigama vartmani nidrAyitAn', those who lack theknowledge to follow the paths mentioned in the Vedas are mentioned.Through the phrase 'prasthAna shakti rahitAn', those who lack thestrength to follow those paths, even if they have some understandingof it, are mentioned. Vedanta Desikan says that it is He who wakesup such people due to His grace ('dayayA pratibodhya') and makes them attain some knowledge and strength. The reason for this is desribed further. Having been advised byPeriya Pirattiyar on numerous occasions, He takes whatever littlegood intents are present in them and makes them much more than they are. This is the same as mentioned by Pillai Lokacharyar as "janmaparamparaigaL thORum, yAthrucchikam, prAsangikam, AnushangikamengiRa sukrutha visEshangaLaik kaRpiththuk koNdu thAnE

avaRRaionRu paththAkki nadaththik koNdu pORum".

Beings that are very old, infants, ignorant and blind need help towalk in any path. Similar to them, the chetanas too need help whichHe gives. That is His quality of sauhArdam. In Varaha Charama shloka, He says "nayAmi paramAm gatim". This iswhat Swami Desikan restates as "netum yatase".
